The new 68 plates are fast approaching. This means you’ll start to see new cars showcasing the 68 plates from the 1st of September.
Understanding and having the knowledge of reading a car registration plate is a handy skill to have as it will usually allow you to figure out the age of a vehicle and even its place of origin. This can be useful when purchasing a new or used car and knowing when the best time is to get your car valued.

Want to have a look at the new arrivals freshly equipped with a 68 plate? Below are some examples of what’s to come within the next three months and beyond.
Volvo V60
Spacious dimensions make the V60 the biggest in its class range. Volvo has seemingly increased both the passenger and luggage space from the previous eight-year-old design to give it the revamp which was needed.
Regarding its interior, instrument panels and a new centre console touchscreen are included with it being a major improvement with the previous model. A real revamp.
Peugeot 508
With its low, dynamic shape, aggressive front end and muscular style, the all new Peugeot 508 heralds a new era of sportiness and elegance.
With a renewed focus on design and a fresh body style, the 508 marks the beginning of a reaffirmation of Groupe PSA’s support of larger saloons, with sister brand Citroën working on a ‘luxurious’ saloon for launch in 2019 or 2020.
Hyundai i30 Fastback N
Equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and wireless phone charging including a rear view camera, the Hyundai i30 Fastback N is an up to date car with the essentials for this day and age with the performance to match its Germany rivals. Also watch this space for the Veloster N coming in 2019.
Range Rover Velar SVR
With little known about the SVR for the time being, the only fact so far is that Land Rover has created its quickest model to date. With that being said, you can rest assured that the newest model will be out to turn heads.
BMW 8 Series
The powerful M850i features a 4.4 litre V8 petrol engine that produces a powerful 523bhp. The interior for the 8 series includes bespoke seats, central touchscreen as standard along with BMW’s head up display. The control system can be operated via touchscreen, voice control or gesture control.
Kia Sportage Hybrid
The facelifted Sportage is coming soon and will be an electrified five-seat SUV using 48V architecture with a starter-generator unit. This system, which uses a 48V lithium ion battery, will eventually make its way into other Kia models. Stay tuned for more information prior to release.
Skoda Fabia Facelift
Currently, the range-topping Fabia is the L estate, although the new range-topper is the most powerful 109bhp, DSG gearbox-equipped Monte Carlo-spec hatch. The same range of specs will appear as the pre-facelift version, with S at the bottom and Monte Carlo and Colour Edition cars at the top.
Audi SQ8
The SQ8 will use a 429bhp 4.0-litre V8 diesel engine, shared with the SQ7, instead of the hybrid V6 powertrain that Audi hinted at with the Q8 Sport Concept of 2017.
The SQ8 looks set to get a quad-exit exhaust system and larger-diameter wheels than the standard Q8. It will use height adjustable air suspension, tuned to offer enhanced body control, and could come with active anti-roll bars powered by the car’s 48V electronic architecture.
Ford Range Raptor
The Ranger Raptor isn’t your regular pick up. Its effectively an SUV, so the rear end has coil suspension rather than leaf springs. The interior has been given an aggressive facelift including the Raptor logos stitched into the suede and leather sports seats, not forgetting its leather wrapped steering wheel rather than the regular plastic base. More information regarding the Range Raptor will be available soon.
Volvo XC40 Twin Engine
So far, the information released regarding the XC40 is that the first customers will receive their cars in March 2019. The XC40 includes a T3 Engine which will be sure to make a positive impact to performance, economy and emission figures which are yet to be released.
