On Thursday 30 March, 2017, our Fuel Card partner BP, launched their mutual acceptance agreement with Esso.
Partnering with BP for over a year now, we are encouraged to see their network grow. As a result, our customers can benefit from a larger network of fuel sites across the UK.
From today, the BP Fuel Card will be accepted at circa 860 Esso forecourts in the UK, with more sites being added soon. This extends the BP network to over 3,300 sites who now accept the use of BP Fuel Cards
The BP branded network includes 1,280 sites. 900 of these sites are on UK A roads, 700 of which are 24-hour sites. The cards are also already accepted at Texaco and Gulf sites.
Fluctuating fuel costs are a concern for many fleet managers. We recognised the importance of offering our customers a fuel card that help address these concerns. That’s why we carefully selected BP to partner with, and developments like this help to demonstrate their ongoing commitment to offering the best fuel card on the market.
Andy Allen, UK fuel card manager at BP Fuel Cards, commented: “We are committed to expanding our offer to support our fleet customer needs. This collaboration with the Esso network of sites enables us build on our offer to BP PLUS fleet customers, giving drivers even more choice and availability when travelling throughout the UK.”
To help drivers recognise accepted sites across the UK, BP have developed a new cross acceptance symbol that will be displayed at participating Esso forecourts. This symbol will also be displayed on the new BP Fuel Card design which will be launched in May this year.
