For the past 12 years, Sandicliffe Motor Contracts has provided Loughborough-based Rainbows hospice for Children and Young People with the unrestricted use of a vehicle. But the existing vehicle – a 2014 Nissan Note, was starting to feel a little dated, so SMC felt it was time to furnish Rainbows hospice with something more modern.
Nick Jarram, Fleet Asset Manager at Sandicliffe Motor Contracts said, “Today’s vehicles are rapidly becoming more efficient and better equipped than ever before. So even a four-year-old car can start to feel outdated.”
To show continued support for one of the East Midland’s most specialist charities, Sandicliffe Motor Contracts confirmed it would continue to provide support to Rainbows Hospice with the supply of a 17 plate Ford Fiesta Zetec.
Today saw the presentation of Rainbows’ new car which comes equipped with Sat Nav, Air-conditioning, heated front screen and Bluetooth handsfree. These added little luxuries go some way in providing more comfort and convenience to those who will be using the vehicle at Rainbows hospice, meaning they can focus on the important care and services that they provide to children in the region.
As the only dedicated hospice for children and young people in the East Midlands, Rainbows hospice provide free of charge respite, palliative and end of life care to children and young people with life limiting or life-threatening conditions.
Rainbows hospice is an impressive facility located in Loughborough, Leicestershire and offers 14 bedrooms, family rooms, beautiful gardens and other facilities, including a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy pool, multi-sensory room, soft-play room and cinema. For over twenty years Rainbows has been caring for thousands of young people, and their families and friends.
Local charity Rainbows hospice representative Kate Golding, who is responsible for Corporate Partnerships commented, “We are delighted to take delivery of the new replacement car this week supplied by Sandicliffe Motor Contracts – it looks fantastic!”
“We’re really grateful that Sandicliffe have continued to supply us with a vehicle and can’t wait for it to be on the road supporting our operations.”
Complete with Rainbows livery, kindly supplied by Autographics Designs, the Ford Fiesta Zetec was handed over by Sandicliffe Motor Contracts Fleet Asset Manager, Nick Jarram to Andy Lupton, Facilities Manager and Kate Golding Corporate Partnerships Manager from Rainbows Hospice.

“It’s essential for us at Rainbows Hospice to be able to get out and about in the community and hugely heart-warming that local business like Sandicliffe have continued to support us over the last decade,” said Mr Lupton.
Paul Woodhouse Director of Sandicliffe Motor Group concluded, “Living close to Loughborough myself, it’s great to be supporting a cause close to my heart by providing them with a practical mobility solution. For a vehicle leasing company, it can also be challenging to make a difference in the local community. But by working with Rainbows Hospice, the team at Sandicliffe Motor Contracts have been able demonstrate what a positive impact one vehicle can have on an organisation’s ability to operate.”
