Charity Golf Day at Rufford Park Golf Club a REAL success

On Friday, 7 July 2017, 29 teams, including a team of our very own took part in a charity golf day.

The event was superbly organised by R.E.A.L Foundation Trust, a charity established in Nottingham in 2008. Standing for Re-think Engagement and Approaches to Learning, the trust support innovative and creative education solutions for children and young people, offering them a chance to reach their potential by investing in and supporting state of the art facilities and creative initiatives.

Taking place at Rufford Park Golf Club in Nottinghamshire, the event was set in over 200 acres of beautiful parkland and woodland. With glorious summer sunshine and spectacular views over Sherwood Forest, it made for a perfect setting for a competitive round of golf.

Teams representing various businesses arrived bright and early to enjoy the sunshine whilst indulging in bacon rolls and hot drinks before teeing off. Tee off was staggered throughout the day with our team of Duncan, Gary, Mark and Scott teeing off at 11:52am.

Not only did we participate, but we also supported the day by bringing along some top of the range cars kindly provided by Volvo and Mercedes-Benz. We would like to thank them both, particularly Andrew Bond from Riverside Motors who happily brought along the all-new XC-60 which generated a lot of interest sitting proudly at the top of the 1^st tee.

Some excellent golf was on display as teams made their way around the course. Unfortunately for the Sandicliffe Motor Contracts team,we fell short of the podium places as Health Insurance Group carded an impressive 93 to give them the victory.

After making our way around the course, we were then treated to a two-course meal and presentation as the winners received their rewards. Following the presentation, we then had the opportunity to win an array of luxury items from the raffle. We supported the raffle by donating Sandicliffe Motor Contracts golf umbrellas, and Volvo also kindly supplied a Sonos speaker system.

We’re delighted to have been able to support what was a very successful event and help raise £4,000 . We’d like to thank R.E.A.L Foundation Trust for organising the event, and to all the players, sponsors, and Rufford Park Golf Club who helped make the day what it was.
